Throughout my working and personal life I have been involved with people, public speaking and training. During 25 years of self-employment alongside my partner, Peter, we ran local, national and international award-winning businesses focussing on customers, service and personality. With hundreds of staff members over the years to encourage and manage, I also wrote training guides and manuals, and did the marketing, branding and promotions of our businesses. With social events to organise and host alongside supporting small and large charities, I worked with all kinds of people and challenges.
I can balance seriousness with humour, informality with respect, and personal experiences in my own life drew me to be supporting people through difficult times by writing and hosting funeral services. In 2014, I trained and qualified as an Independent Professional Celebrant.
Having lost close friends and family myself – including my eldest son which was and is a huge sadness to face – I am passionate about giving every person a wonderful “send-off”. I believe we should not only remember our loved ones who have passed away, but also keep them a fresh and inclusive part of our ongoing lives. In fact I was so taken with the memoirs hand-written written by my late mother-in-law, I was determined they should be cherished and published them as a book.
Your family or friend deserves a memorable send-off, and I would be glad to help make a sad day a good day.
